to FIN 201 Business Finance.
Course
Objective:
The
basic objective of this course is to impart basic knowledge and required skills
of business finance to students to understand the nature and functions of
finance and to professionally use the knowledge to analyze financial issues and
take appropriate financial decisions and actions thereto.
Course
Description:
The
course deals with nature of finance functions, financial statement and cash
flow analysis, time value of money, risk and return, bond and stock valuation,
capital budgeting analysis, and working capital management.

Evaluation scheme
Note: Student unable to attend below 80 % are unable to appear for final exams.
Project Work (in individual)
- Student shall be given project work related to finance topics.
- Students need to prepare a short report and present at the end of course.
- Student submitting late or not submitting all the project report will be subject to deduction of marks.
- Each student is allocated an individual score (from 1 to 5) in each assignment and average score is used to grade their final assignment.
Viva (in individual)
- Each student need to be prepare for viva exam daily.
- Viva exam shall be surprise taken. Here, students are asked short questions about topics taught in previous classes.
- Each student is allocated an individual score (from 1 to 5) in each assignment and average score is used to grade their final assignment.
Assignment (in individual)
- Each student should submit the provided assignment in due date (hand written), copying wholly or partly will be penalized by deduction in marks.
- Each student is allocated an individual score (from 1 to 10) in each assignment and average score is used to grade their final assignment.
